The City of Wichita Falls was challenged to raise $1.5 million to pay for its city-wide marketing plan to last for the next three years. HCK2 understood the importance of this collaborative outreach, working with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Wichita Falls Downtown Development, its Convention & Visitors Bureau, as well as the City itself, which was the first time in recorded history all entities have worked together for a common goal.

From this premise, the “Pride in the Falls” was born in 2010. Through internal audits and comprehensive understanding of the needs for marketing Wichita Falls, HCK2 learned the common denominator of each citizen was pride.

The team believed for a lofty goal of fundraising would be $250,000 each year for the next three years. HCK2 crafted the language and the presentation to petition the city’s 4A tax board for dollar-for-dollar matching funds for the next three years. The vote was unanimous, the funds were approved and the campaign was official.

Later that year, from branding the campaign across the city to giving it a platform online and securing more than 333 million impressions more than 10 months in the media, HCK2 and the City of Wichita Falls deems “Pride in the Falls” an overwhelming success. Moreover, this success has either brought or retained 10 businesses in Wichita Falls that is directly related to creating more than 2,000 jobs in north central Texas.
